Indoors

If you’re like us, you sometimes find yourself gazing into the homes of other people while walking the streets thinking, “man,I dig that window with all the plants sucking in light through their gills, wish that was my crib.” Or perhaps just looking at blogs with impossibly cool creative loft spaces. Or reading Apartmento.

Either way, for some reason it brings a small joy to look at nicely photographed living spaces, and Indoors.es is one of those sites you can loose some hours on looking at said spaces.
One catch, its based in Spain, so if you don’t read spanish you’ll only be able to appreciate the spaces and not the people or story behind it. But nobody reads text on the webs anyway right?

¡Feliz lectura!

DATA GARDEN: QUARTET @ Philadelphia Museum of Art

Our friends at the Data Garden are doing exciting things here in Philadelphia and we’re excited to see where they go with all these performace and interactive events they keep pulling out of there sleeves.

DATA GARDEN: QUARTET is the first bio-reactive and plant-controlled work of art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, hosted by Megawords from April 13-15th.
from DG:
“Situated in the Megawords exhibition space, participants will be encouraged to accompany four large tropical plants that are fitted with specialized electronic sensors. By converting the physiology of the specimens into data, the plants will perform quadraphonic audio compositions in real time. The very presence of museum goers will affect this performance, resulting in a unique composition from moment to moment.”

Switched On 2.0

Our friends over at the Data Garden need your help!

“Data Garden seeks to engage people to explore the relationship between plants music and technology with an outdoor arts festival, The Switched-On Garden on October 14, 2012. The first Switched-On Garden took place on 10/16/2011 at Philadelphia’s Bartram’s Garden and was attended by over 700 people of all ages and backgrounds. Your investment will help us make this event possible, attract leading international artists, expand public interaction with urban green space and keep the event free and open to the public.”
